Guidelines for TIV Members
News from the Sustainability Working Group:
Sustainability is no longer an abstract issue of the future; rather, it is increasingly becoming a practical reality in the trailer industry as well. At the same time, a certain degree of caution is understandable: the effort involved seems significant, the benefits are often unclear, and the direct reporting requirements have recently shifted significantly for many small and medium-sized enterprises.
The international “Sustainability” Working Group has already met twice virtually and twice in person to discuss key sustainability issues. During these meetings, we developed a sustainability action guide, which we are making available to our members to help them address future challenges in this area.
On April 30, 2026, we held a face-to-face meeting in Munich to discuss this. There, we received valuable insights from Michael Kalus of Tanso Technologies GmbH, with whom we jointly developed this guide. The guide provides clear and practical guidance on which topics are relevant, what companies can specifically expect, and what a sensible starting point might look like. This gives our members a realistic roadmap with which they can address the topic in a structured, step-by-step, and forward-looking manner.
With the current adjustments to EU regulations (Omnibus Package, effective 2026), significantly fewer companies are directly affected and have more time to prepare.
